Pitt Shows Interest in Charlotte Transfer
PITTSBURGH -- The Pitt Panthers have added another name to their list of transfer portal targets in the wake of a couple of roster losses this weekend.
Pitt has reached out to Charlotte center Dishon Jackson, according to The Portal Report, but they aren’t the only ones. The Panthers, Georgetown and Butler are the latest to express interest and LSU, Xavier, Iowa State, Cal, Miami, Arkasnas, New Mexico State and Georgia Tech have already contacted him as well.
Jackson played the best season of his career after transferring to Charlotte from Washington State. He took a medical redshirt during the 2022-23 season and came back with a vengeance this past season, averaging 11.4 points and 6.1 rebounds per game while shooting 57.1% from 2-point range over 26.5 minutes per game - all of which were career-highs.
He’s an outstanding shot blocker, defensive rebounder and finisher around the rim. That, combined with his experience, makes him an ideal fit for the Panthers, who lost starting center Federiko Federiko and forward Will Jeffress to the transfer portal this weekend.
