PITTSBURGH -- The Pitt Panthers have officially added their highest-rated recruit from the 2024 recruiting class this week.

6'3 point guard Brandin Cummings, younger brother of former Pitt star, Nelly Cummings, has signed his national letter of intent to join the Panthers next year. Given the high rate of underclassmen on this year's team, Cummings is one of just two players to give the Panthers a verbal commitment during this recruiting cycle.

Rated a three-star prospect by On3, 247Sports and Rivals, Cummings also earned as four-star rating from ESPN. He's a consensus top-10 player in the state of Pennsylvania and top-20 point guard in his class. 247Sports and Rivals both rank him among the top-150 players in this class.

Cummings is in the middle of his senior season at Lincoln Park Performing Arts High School in Pittsburgh. He averaged 25.5 points a game, shooting 55% from the field, 82% from the free throw line and 38% from 3-point range last season.

This summer on the Nike EYBL 17U circuit, Cummings averaged 19.0 points (sixth best in the EYBL) and 3.7 rebounds per game while making 51.1% of his field goals, 37.5% of his 3-pointers and 81% of his free throws for All-Ohio, his AAU team. For his efforts, Cummings earned All-Breakout Team honors from The Circuit, an outlet that covers the EYBL circuit.
