PITTSBURGH -- Pitt Panthers commit Brandin Cummings is still a year away from playing at the Petersen Events Center but he looks ready for the big stage now.

Pitt's lone commit in the class of 2024 threw down a strong one-handed dunk over his defender in the Pennsylvania state semifinals. His Lincoln Park team defeated Uniontown, 85-64 and will advance to play Philadelphia power Neumann-Goretti later this week in Hershey, Pennsylvania.

Cummings is a three-star recruit from Midland, Pennsylvania. His older brother, Nelly, started all 34 games for the Panthers this season at point guard, helping lead the program to 24 wins and its first NCAA Tournament berth in seven years. The younger Cummings chose Pitt over Creighton, Duquesne and South Carolina. Maryland, Oregon, Penn State, Texas and UCLA also showed interest.

Cummings is one of the stars of this Lincoln Park team alongside five-star Maleek Thomas.
