PITTSBURGH -- It was a busy weekend for the Pitt Panthers, who logged their first in-stadium work at Acrisure Stadium and welcomed a slew of important recruits for visits to the South Side and the team's gameday home on the North Shore.

A litany high school prospects were on campus and at the Panthers' facilities as the team conducted spring practices. Pitt has been red hot on the recruiting trail, landing six commitments over the final two weeks of March and they'll hope to keep the positive momentum moving.

A run down of the notable names visiting Pittsburgh this weekend follows below.

  • Four-star 2024 tight end Colton Heinrich, a native of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida and student at powerhouse Cardinal Gibbons High School, was one of those players in attendance this weekend that the Panthers have been after for a while. He's only gotten more highly-regarded since earning his offer from Pitt, taking visits to Texas A&M and Auburn and receiving an offer from Ohio State in recent weeks. Georgia, LSU, Florida, Tennessee, West Virginia, Michigan State, Louisville and Texas are some of the other interested parties.
  • Another tight end, 2024 prospect Gavin Grother, was also in town. The consensus three-star prospect has offers from Kentucky, Cincinnati, West Virginia, Virginia Tech, Michigan State and Iowa State are some of those to have offered, with interest coming from Ohio State, Michigan and Penn State. Rutgers, Kentucky, West Virginia, Indiana and Cincinnati got visits over the past week as well.
  • Javon Hammonds Jr., a three-star edge rusher from Wayne, Ohio, visited the Panthers as well. The No. 51 player at his position in the class holds offers from Purdue, Michigan State, Indiana and others and has interest from Ohio State, who hosted him for a visit earlier this month.
  • A 2025 offensive lineman with an impressive offer sheet was in Pittsburgh to meet with offensive line coach Dave Borbley and the rest of the staff. Aidan Lynch, a 6'7, 283-pound lineman from Mount Olive High School in Flanders, New Jersey, has visited and received offers from Georgia and Penn State. He also holds offers from West Virginia, Stanford and Boston College.
  • Two twin linemen in the class of 2024, Tyclean and Tycoolhill Luman, made the trip from South Florida to Pittsburgh this weekend. Tyclean, a three star defensive end and the No. 115 player in Florida, holds offers from Miami, Florida State, Auburn, Oklahoma, Arkansas and others. Tycoolhill, a three-star interior lineman, has a similar offers sheet. The Hurricanes, Seminoles, Tigers, Sooners, Razorbacks and Mountaineers are on his as well. Pitt has extended offers to both of them.
  • 2025 quarterback Jamison Kitna, the son of former NFL signal-caller Jon Kitna, took a visit to Pitt, who extended an offer at the beginning of March. He's young but still a hot commodity to Power 5 programs. He's visited Baylor, Houston, Cincinnati and Michigan over the past month.
  • Kitna wasn't the only quarterback to visit with the Panthers. 2026 signal-caller Frankie Williams was in the Steel City too. He doesn't have an offer yet but one could be on the way soon. Maryland is the only other program to have offered so far.
  • Pitt welcomed 2026 Michigan cornerback A.J. Marks to the Steel City and extended an offer at the end of his visit. He does not have a rating on any of the major recruiting services but he has garnered 10 Division I offers as a freshman. He added the Panthers to a list that includes Penn State, Louisville and West Virginia. Michigan State, USC, UCLA, Michigan and Duke are some of the programs to have shown interest, but not offered.
