WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. — No. 5 Purdue basketball has a chance to clinch a share of the Big Ten regular-season title in a rematch against No. 17-ranked Indiana on Saturday at Mackey Arena. The game also marks the second of two meetings between the in-state rivals. 

"Obviously you want to win," junior center Zach Edey said. "That's the only thing we're really focused on right now, but it's a cool opportunity, it's a unique opportunity. We've just got to go out there and close it."

The Hoosiers won on their home court, 79-74, back on Feb. 4, but the Boilermakers enter the matchup with a six-game win streak at home, winning by an average margin of 16.3 points per contest.

Meet the coaches

Matt Painter, Purdue: Painter is in his 18th season as the head coach of Purdue basketball. He owns a 408-196 overall record with the program, including a 207-119 mark in the Big Ten. With a 73-55 win over Nebraska on Jan. 13, Painter became just the fifth coach in Big Ten history with 400 career wins while at a conference school, joining Bob Knight, Tom Izzo, Gene Keady and Lou Henson.

Painter began his head coaching career at Southern Illinois, leading the team atop the Missouri Valley Conference with a 25-5 overall record during the 2003-04 season, dropping only one game in league matchups.

Mike Woodson, Indiana: Woodson is in his second season at Indiana, with a 40-23 overall record and a 19-18 mark in Big Ten play. He brought NBA head coaching experience to the program after spending time with the Atlanta Hawks from 2004-10 and the New York Knicks from 2012-14.

Dating back to 1996, Woodson has also been an assistant coach for the Milwaukee Bucks, Cleveland Cavaliers, Philadelphia 76ers, New York Knicks and Los Angeles Clippers. Woodson played at Indiana University from 1976-80 and was named the Big Ten's Most Valuable Player as a senior under Bob Knight.
