How to Watch Purdue's NCAA Tournament Game Against Fairleigh Dickinson
COLUMBUS, Ohio — No. 1 seed Purdue basketball begins its path through the 2023 NCAA Tournament when it takes on No. 16 seed Fairleigh Dickinson on Friday at Nationwide Arena.
The Boilermakers enter the tournament with a 29-5 overall record to earn their fourth No. 1 seed in school history and their first since 1996. The team has a 12-4 record this season against the field, including 4-0 against teams from the East region (Duke, Marquette and Michigan State twice).
The Knights made their way into the first round by defeating Texas Southern 84-61 during a First Four matchup at UD Arena in Dayton, Ohio.
"Like everyone else, we're excited to be in the NCAA Tournament," Purdue coach Matt Painter said. "Our guys have worked very hard to be in a great position, but just really looking forward to the challenge of playing Fairleigh Dickinson, who had a great win [Wednesday] night and did some really good things."

Meet the coaches
Purdue: Matt Painter is in his 18th season as the head coach of Purdue basketball. He owns a 413-197 overall record with the program, including a 212-120 mark in the Big Ten. With a 73-55 win over Nebraska on Jan. 13, Painter became just the fifth coach in Big Ten history with 400 career wins while at a conference school, joining Bob Knight, Tom Izzo, Gene Keady and Lou Henson.
Painter began his head coaching career at Southern Illinois, leading the team atop the Missouri Valley Conference with a 25-5 overall record during the 2003-04 season, dropping only one game in league matchups.
Fairleigh Dickinson: Tobin Anderson is in his first season at the helm for Fairleigh Dickinson, bringing the Knights to a 20-15 record before the NCAA Tournament. He began his coaching career as an assistant coach in 1996 at Clarkson.
He would later return to Clarkson to become the team's head coach between 1999 and 2004. Anderson posted a 67–66 overall record before taking the head coaching position at Hamilton.
Anderson spent two seasons as an assistant at Sienna before taking another head coaching job at St. Thomas Aquinas. With the Spartans, he compiled a 209–62 overall record and accepted his first NCAA Division I head coaching position with Fairleigh Dickinson on May 3, 2022.
