Kevin Durant Reacts to Purdue Basketball's Win Over Ohio State

Brooklyn Nets superstar Kevin Durant reacted to Purdue basketball's 71-69 win over Ohio State on Twitter. The Boilermakers defeated the Buckeyes on the road on a 3-pointer in the final minute of play.

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Following No. 1 Purdue basketball's 71-69 victory against No. 24 Ohio State on the road Thursday night, NBA superstar Kevin Durant of the Brooklyn Nets took to social media to comment on the outcome of the game.

"That's a tough win on the road by Purdue," Durant wrote via his Twitter account.

The Boilermakers traveled to Value City Arena in Columbus, Ohio, looking to bounce back after suffering their first loss of the season on Monday against Rutgers. They trailed the Buckeyes by as many as 12 points but battled back in the first half to make it a 36-33 game at halftime.

The team's largest lead of the game came in the second half when Purdue held a 52-56 advantage thanks to a 10-0 run. However, Ohio State went on a run of its own to equalize with more than 10 minutes to play.

Down by one point in the final minute, freshman guard Fletcher Loyer nailed a 3-pointer to take a 71-69 lead. The Boilermakers improved to 14-1 overall and 3-1 against Big Ten opponents.

Durant — a 12-time NBA All-Star, two-time NBA champion and former league MVP — also gave credit to Ohio State's team, including freshman forward Brice Sensabaugh. After earning his third straight Big Ten Freshman of the Week award, Sensabaugh registered 21 points against Purdue on 10-of-17 shooting to lead all scorers.

The Boilermakers finished the game with four players in double figures. It was the first of four matchups away from Mackey Arena in the span of five games. The team will play Penn State on Sunday at the Palestra in Philadelphia. The game is scheduled for 6 p.m. ET and will be televised on the Big Ten Network.
