LIVE BLOG: Follow No. 3 Purdue basketball vs. Maryland in Real Time
WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. — After winning its last five games, including four on the road, No. 3 Purdue basketball is back inside Mackey Arena on Sunday for a matchup with Maryland starting at 1 p.m. ET. It's the first of two meetings between the Boilermakers and Terrapins this season.

3:13 p.m. ET, FINAL — Purdue 58, Maryland 55
3:10 p.m. ET — Jahmir Young gets both free throws to fall. There are 5.3 seconds left and Purdue leads by one. Braden Smith fouled on the in-bounds pass and will head to the line. He hits both free throws, now 8-of-8 for the game.
3:08 p.m. ET — Maryland's 3-point attempt misses the mark, but the Terrapins retain possession and call for a timeout with 6.8 seconds left.
3:01 p.m. ET — Neither team has scored in the last three minutes of play. Purdue is holding on to its 56-53 lead over Maryland. The Boilermakers are desperate for a shot to fall here in the final minute.
2:57 p.m. ET — Back-to-back stops for Purdue, but it needs a shot to fall to put this one away. Matt Painter calls timeout with 12 seconds on the shot clock. Boilers lead 56-53 with 1:23 to play.
2:51 p.m. ET, UNDER 4 — Julian Reese gets a high-arcing jumper over Zach Edey, and Purdue leads Maryland by just three with under four minutes to play. The Boilermakers have just one field goal in the last six-plus minutes.
2:48 p.m. ET — Mackey Arena erupts after an offensive foul is called on Maryland. Purdue leads by five with more than four minutes to play. On the subsequent possession, the Terrapins pick up another foul. They have six in the half.
2:47 p.m. ET — Braden Smith with a turnover trying to lob the ball to Zach Edey, but Fletcher Loyer and Ethan Morton play great transition defense on the fastbreak to get the ball back without a Maryland basket.
2:38 p.m. ET, UNDER 8 — Purdue's lead is back to just five points, leading 50-45 with 7:26 left to play. Maryland is shooting above 50% in the second half, with Julian Reese and Hakim Hart leading the way in double figures for the game.
2:33 p.m. ET — When things are going wrong on the scoring front, look no further than for Zach Edey to help turn things around. He has nine of Purdue's 13 points so far in the second half.
2:28 p.m. ET, UNDER 12 — Purdue is 4-of-13 from the field in the second half and now leads Maryland 44-37 with 11:32 left. The Terrapins went on a 7-0 run to get as close as five before Zach Edey answered. He has 16 points and 11 rebounds.
2:18 p.m. ET, UNDER 16 — Purdue leads Maryland 42-34 with 14:07 left to play. Hakim Hart gets a layup in transition and will have a free throw after the media timeout after a foul is called on Fletcher Loyer.
2:16 p.m. ET — The press flustered Purdue in the first half, but it's doing a much better job communicating and getting through the pressure now. Ethan Morton gets an easy layup as a result.
2:12 p.m. ET — Maryland opens with a 7-0 run to start the second half and cuts its deficit to single digits for the first time since the 13-minute mark in the first half.
1:51 p.m. ET, HALFTIME — Zach Edey slams the ball before the buzzer, giving him a game-high 11 points as Purdue goes into the locker room leading Maryland 35-21 at halftime. All nine players that entered the game for the Boilermakers scored at least one basket.
1:46 p.m. ET — A fantastic bounce pass from Fletcher Loyer to Zach Edey for an easy slam.
1:41 p.m. ET, UNDER 4 — Scoring has slowed in the last handful of minutes, but Purdue leads Maryland 31-16 with 3:24 before halftime. The Boilermakers haven't made a field goal in nearly six minutes but have gone 4-of-4 from the free-throw line in the same span.
1:39 p.m. ET — Great defense by Ethan Morton once again on Jahmir Young. One-on-one opportunity for Young, but he can't shake Morton and misses a shot inside the paint.
1:35 p.m. ET — Jahmir Young airballs a 3-point attempt for Maryland. He's been held under wraps by Purdue in the opening half, going 0-of-5 from the field so far.
1:30 p.m. ET, UNDER 8 — Purdue leads Maryland 27-14 with 7:49 before halftime. Ian Martinez with back-to-back buckets for the Terrapins, but the Boilermakers have led by as many as 16 points here in the first half.
1:24 p.m. ET — Purdue is on a role here against Maryland, leading 25-9 with 10:43 to play in the first half. A 3-pointer from David Jenkins Jr. in transition gives the team its largest lead of the game so far. Seven different Boilermakers have logged a basket.
1:16 p.m. ET — Maryland has been called for six fouls in the opening seven minutes of the game. Purdue has a 20-7 lead after another 7-0 run, forcing a timeout from Kevin Willard and the Terrapins.
1:14 p.m. ET — Zach Edey is drawing fouls early. He heads to the line after being fouled on a shot attempt. He makes the first of two, and Purdue is 3-of-4 from the line in the first seven minutes.
1:13 p.m. ET — Big shot from Ethan Morton, who hits a step-back jumper as the shot clock expires. Purdue has hit on five of its first eight shots.
1:09 p.m. ET, UNDER 16 — It was a 7-0 Purdue run before Maryland's Don Carey hits a 3-pointer. The Boilermakers lead 11-5 with 14:19 left in the first half, and they have four different players on the board in the opening minutes.
1:07 p.m. ET — Maryland pushes Purdue to the end of the shot clock, but Fletcher Loyer gets a contested 3-pointer to fall off the glass. The Boilermakers are 2-of-3 to start the game.
1:05 p.m. ET — Maryland jumps into a zone defense and Braden Smith turns the ball over our of bounds trying to make a flashy pass in the direction of Caleb Furst.
1:04 p.m. ET — Ethan Morton starts on Jaymir Young, who leads Maryland in scoring this season.
Tipoff — Zach Edey wins the tip for Purdue, and we're off here in Mackey Arena. Braden Smith immediately gets the ball down low, and Edey gets through the traffic underneath the rim for an easy slam.
