No. 4 Purdue basketball (8-0, 1-0 Big Ten) tips off against Hofstra (6-3) on Wednesday at Mackey Arena. Here is our live blog, which will keep you up to date on all the news and views in real time, so follow along below.

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. — No. 4 Purdue basketball is back at home for a midweek matchup against Hofstra, a nonconference opponent based in Hempstead, N.Y., that competes in the Colonial Athletic Association. The game is scheduled to tip off at 7 p.m. ET on Wednesday at Mackey Arena.

The Boilermakers, who are 8-0 and 1-0 in Big Ten play so far in the 2022-23 season, boast a 20-game win streak against nonconference opponents in the regular season and will look to extend that mark against the Pride. They come into West Lafayette with a 6-3 overall record.

8:43 p.m. ET, FINAL — Purdue 85, Hofstra 66

The Boilermakers outrebounded the Pride 43-20 while Zach Edey led the way with 23 points and 18 rebounds to go along with four others scoring in double figures for the team. 

8:40 p.m. ET — Trey Kaufman-Renn gets a 3-pointer to fall. He has 11 points for Purdue and is one of five players in double figures. 

8:36 p.m. ET, UNDER 4 — Zach Edey's conditioning appears that it's being tested for the first time all season. He's seen 31 minutes on the floor while Caleb Furst shares the court and Trey Kaufman-Renn sits with four fouls. Purdue up 80-60 with 3:20 left. 

8:26 p.m. ET, UNDER 8 — Purdue leads 77-55 with 7:45 left to play in the game. Hofstra hasn't scored in more than three minutes, and the Boilermakers have made six of their last eight shots. 

8:25 p.m. ET — Free throws once again loom large for Purdue, which is in the bonus with more than eight minutes still to play. The Boilermakers are 14-of-17 from the foul line so far tonight. 

8:23 p.m. ET — Braden Smith, in the midst of another dominant performance from Zach Edey, quietly has 13 points on 5-of-8 shooting with four rebounds and two assists. 

8:16 p.m. ET — Zach Edey goes 1-for-2 from the line after a foul, giving him 20 points on the night. It's his eighth straight game of 20+ points, the longest streak of any Purdue player in the Matt Painter era. 

8:11 p.m. ET — Fletcher Loyer has come out of halftime on another level after a slow start. He has half of Purdue's points in the second half, and just found Trey Kaufman-Renn for an easy dunk. The Boilermakers are on an 8-0 run and lead 70-46 with 14:18 left to play. 

8:06 p.m. ET, UNDER 16 — Purdue ahead 62-46 with 15:56 left to play in the game. Hofstra has yet to miss a shot from the field in the second half, making its first five. Zach Edey is up to 17 on the night, looking for his eighth straight game of 20+ points. 

8:00 p.m. ET — A solid start for Fletcher Loyer after halftime. He knocks down his first 3-pointer of the game and is now 2-of-7 from the field with 5 points. His shot matched a triple by Darlinstone Dubar to begin the second half. 

7:43 p.m. ET, HALFTIME — Purdue ends on a 7-0 run to take a 54-34 lead over Hofstra to end the first half. Zach Edey led the way with 15 points on 6-of-10 shooting to go along with 11 rebounds. 

7:40 p.m. ET — Hofstra redshirt freshman guard Amar'e Marshall leads all scorers with 17 points on 7-of-11 shooting, which is already a season-high before halftime. The Pride has been efficient on the offensive end of the court, clawing its way back after going down by as many as 21 points. Purdue leads 51-34 with 29.1 seconds left in the first half after Matt Painter calls for a timeout. 

7:32 p.m. ET, UNDER 4 — Purdue leads Hofstra 41-28 with 3:46 to play in the first half. The Boilermakers by as many as 21 points, but the Pride are now shooting 52% from the field, which includes 4-of-9 from the 3-point line. 

7:29 p.m. ET — Zach Edey has nine points and nine rebounds to his name, looking to record a double-double in the first half in consecutive games. He is 4-of-6 from the field. 

7:25 p.m. ET, UNDER 8 — Caleb Furst gets a shot to fall through a foul, giving Purdue a 34-19 lead over Hofstra with 7:27 left in the first half. He'll head to the line after the media timeout. The Pride has made their last five shots. 

7:16 p.m. ET, UNDER 12 — Zach Edey pulls down his seventh rebound of the first half and passes out to Brandon Newman for an easy 3-pointer. Purdue is 4-of-8 from deep and leads 24-8 with 11:43 left in the first half. 

7:14 p.m. ET — Brandon Newman and David Jenkins Jr. check in for the Boilermakers. They were up 18 points before the Pride found a 3-point basket to make it 20-5. 

7:08 p.m. ET, UNDER 16 — Purdue leads 13-2 with 15:45 left in the first half. Hofstra is just 1-of-7 from the floor with just one rebound so far. Zach Edey and Braden Smith scored the first nine points for the Boilermakers. 

7:06 p.m. ET — Hofstra finds its first basket as Darlinstone Dubar gets a shot to fall underneath the rim. 

7:05 p.m. ET — Purdue is up 9-0 with 17:11 still to play in the first half. Hofstra has no answer for Zach Edey, who has four points already. Braden Smith is leading the way with five. 

7:04 p.m. ET — Braden Smith puts in a 3-pointer, and Purdue is up 7-0 in the first three minutes of play. Hofstra is 0-for-4 from the field. The Boilermakers have an early 6-1 rebounding advantage. 

Tipoff — Zach Edey wins the tip for Purdue, and the Boilermakers begin the game with an offensive possession. Edey unable to go up strong to the basket, and his shot wasn't even close. Braden Smith gets the first basket of the game on the next trip down the court. 

Pregame — Hofstra's leading scorer, redshirt senior guard Aaron Estrada, not named among the team's starters against Purdue. He is averaging 21.7 points, 5.3 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 1.6 steals per game this season.

Junior forward Mason Gillis is to miss his second straight game for the Boilermakers after suffering a back injury before the team's win against Minnesota. Furst enters the starting lineup in his place once again.
