8:56 p.m. ET, FINAL — Purdue 63, Austin Peay 44
Zach Edey is the only Boilermaker in double-figures, scoring a career-high 30 points on 12-of-13 shooting while also going 6-of-10 from the foul line.
8:49 p.m. ET — Braden Smith buries Purdue's second 3-pointer of the game, and on the next possession Austin Peay's Elijah Hutchins-Everett picked up his fourth foul.
8:45 p.m. ET, UNDER 4 — Mackey Arena is unhappy with a charge called on Zach Edey, who lowered a shoulder and delivered an easy dunk over the help-side defender. Purdue leads 53-38 with 3:54 to play.
8:43 p.m. ET — Both teams in the bonus under the five-minute mark. Purdue leads by double digits, but Zach Edey is the only Boilermaker in double figures.
8:35 p.m. ET, UNDER 8 — David Jenkins Jr. sinks the first 3-pointer of the game for Purdue, giving the team a 47-32 lead with just over seven minutes left to play. It's his first official basket as a Boilermaker.
8:26 p.m. ET — Elijah Hutchins-Everett continues to have a strong performance for Austin Peay. He leads the team with 17 points on 7-of-14 shooting, including a pair of 3-pointers. Purdue leads by 12 points with 9:36 left in the game.
8:21 p.m. ET, UNDER 12 — Purdue has a 40-28 lead over Austin Peay with 11:45 to play. The Boilermakers haven't scored in over three minutes while the Governors have missed on their last five shots.
8:15 p.m. ET — Purdue still has yet to make a 3-pointer. Fletcher Loyer is off the mark, and the Boilermakers are now 0-for-14 from beyond the arc.
8:10 p.m. ET, UNDER 16 — Zach Edey with all seven points for Purdue so far in the second half. He is 11-of-12 from the field and 1-of-2 from the line for a grand total of 23 points as the Boilermakers lead 38-26 with 15:28 left to play.
8:03 p.m. ET — Zach Edey remains perfect after getting a shot to rattle through the rim. He's 9-of-9 from the floor and has 18 points.
7:45 p.m. ET, HALFTIME — Purdue leads Austin Peay 31-16 at the break. Zach Edey is perfect from the field, going 8-for-8 to lead all scorers with 16 points. Elijah Hutchins-Everett has 10 for the Governors.
The two teams combined to shoot 1-for-24 from the 3-point line in the first half.
7:37 p.m. ET, UNDER 4 — Purdue up 25-12 over Austin Peay after Ethan Morton finds Caleb Furst for an easy slam dunk. Furst has been outstanding running the floor in his eight minutes of playing time and has a team-high five rebounds to go along with his two points.
7:34 p.m. ET — Brandon Newman and Mason Gillis check in for the Boilermakers.
7:31 p.m. ET — Purdue is now 0-for-7 from the 3-point line. Freshman Fletcher Loyer, who knocked down five shots from behind the arc in the team's season opener, has missed on a pair of deep tries.
7:28 p.m. ET, UNDER 8 — Purdue leads Austin Peay 19-12 with 7:38 to play in the first half. The Boilermakers are 7-of-13 from the floor and 5-of-5 from the foul line. Zach Edey is already in double figures after making his first five shots from the field.
7:27 p.m. ET — Austin Peay has now been charged with two administrative technical fouls for flopping. Purdue has knocked down both free-throw attempts that it was awarded.
7:25 p.m. ET — Caleb Furst and Fletcher Loyer into the game for Purdue.
7:22 p.m. ET — Brian Waddell gets a trio of free-throw attempts after being fouled before the media timeout. He knocks down all three to put Purdue ahead 16-10.
7:19 p.m. ET, UNDER 12 — Brandon Newman hit the first jump shot of the game for Purdue, which leads 13-10 with 10:38 left in the first half. The Boilermakers have scored 12 points in the paint so far, led by Zach Edey's team-high 8 points.
7:15 p.m. ET — Purdue is struggling to find its mark from the 3-point line, going 0-for-4 from deep so far in the first half.
7:13 p.m. ET — Caleb Furst and Trey Kaufman-Renn enter the game for the Boilermakers. Braden Smith is the lone starter on the floor. Brian Waddell later checks in for Smith.
7:11 p.m. ET — Brandon Newman and David Jenkins Jr. check into the game for Purdue. Jenkins makes his 2022-23 debut with the Boilermakers after missing the team's season opener against Milwaukee.
7:10 p.m. ET — Immediately after the media timeout, Zach Edey snaps a scoring drought for Purdue that surpassed two minutes. Austin Peay responds with a 3-pointer by center Elijah Hutchins-Everett, who has both baskets for the Governors so far.
7:07 p.m. ET, UNDER 16 — Purdue leads Austin Peay 6-2 with 15:28 left to play in the first half. Scoring slowed for the Boilermakers after they made their first three shots of the game, including two off of early turnovers from the Governors.
7:06 p.m. ET — First miss of the game for Purdue comes on a Fletcher Loyer 3-pointer in transition. Austin Peay is 0-for-2 from the field and has three turnovers in the first four minutes.
Tipoff — Zach Edey wins the tip for Purdue, and the Boilermakers immediately go to the big man underneath the basket. Edey gets the first bucket of the game to give the team an early lead.
Pregame — Purdue guard David Jenkins Jr. missed the team's season opener against Milwaukee, but he was listed as probable for Friday night's game.
