Purdue Stays at No. 5 in Latest AP Top 25 College Basketball Poll

With wins over Wisconsin and Illinois this past week, Purdue basketball finished the regular season at 26-5 overall and 15-5 in Big Ten play. The Boilermakers came in at No. 5 in the latest Associated Press Top 25 college basketball poll.

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. — Following the conclusion of the 2022-23 regular season and winning three of its last four games, Purdue came in at No. 5 in Monday's Associated Press Top 25 college basketball poll. 

After victories over Wisconsin and Illinois this past week, the Boilermakers are 26-5 and 15-5 against Big Ten competition heading into postseason play. They captured a narrow 63-61 win on the road against the Badgers before returning home for a 76-71 victory against the Fighting Illini. 

Purdue was one of two conference schools ranked in this week's poll, joined by No. 19 Indiana. Northwestern, Michigan State, Iowa and Maryland also received votes. 

The Boilermakers were crowned Big Ten regular-season champions and will have a double-bye alongside the No. 1 seed in the upcoming conference tournament. The event is set to take place March 8-12 at the United Center in Chicago. Purdue will play the winner of a matchup between Michigan and Rutgers.
