How to Watch Purdue's Spring Football Game on Saturday
Purdue will round out the spring practice schedule with the annual spring game on Saturday, April 13. The Boilermakers are one of three Big Ten teams hosting their spring game this weekend, along with Ohio State and Penn State.
Because of renovations to Ross-Ade Stadium last season, Purdue did not host a spring game. That means this will be the first for second-year coach Ryan Walters.

Purdue's 2023 football season
Purdue went through a rebuilding stage in 2023 after winning the Big Ten West and appearing in the conference championship game in 2022. Jeff Brohm left the program to become the coach at Louisville, and the Boilermakers hired first-time head coach Ryan Walters to take over in West Lafayette.
The Boilers finished the 2023 campaign with a 4-8 record, which included a 3-6 mark in Big Ten play. Purdue did finish the year on a high note, winning two of its final three games and defeating Indiana 35-31 to keep the Old Oaken Bucket.
At the spring game, there will be 25 new faces on the field. The Boilermakers have brought in 14 transfers and 11 recruits at the semester who have participated in spring practices.
About coach Ryan Walters
Walters enters his second year at the helm at Purdue. It's also just his second year in a head coaching role. He was hired after Brohm departed for Louisville.
Athletic director Mike Bobinski was impressed with the defenses Walters assembled while serving as the defensive coordinator at Illinois (2021-22) and Missouri (2015-20). Although the Boilermakers didn't have a great season record-wise in 2023, Walters gained plenty of support in his first season.
Walters got his start in coaching in Colorado (his alma mater) in 2009 as a student assistant. Since then he's had stops with Arizona (2010-11), Oklahoma (2012), North Texas (2013), Memphis (2014).
