WATCH: Hudson Card Hits Andrew Sowinski for 58-Yard Touchdown in Purdue Spring Game
It didn't take long for Hudson Card to get his team on the scoreboard in Purdue's spring game on Saturday afternoon. Just one minute into the game, the veteran quarterback connected with wide receiver Andrew Sowinski for a 58-yard touchdown pass.
Card was able to avoid pressure, step up and hit the wide open receiver for an easy touchdown to give the Boiler Up team a 7-0 advantage on the Hammer Down squad.
Below is the clip from Saturday's spring game at Ross-Ade Stadium.
Sowinski has seen limited time on the field during his career with the Boilermakers. Last season, the receiver finished the year with three receptions for 29 yards. His most productive year came during Purdue's run to a Big Ten West title in 2022, hauling in nine pass for 96 yards.
Card will be entering his second season at Purdue after transferring from Texas. He threw for 2,387 yards and 15 touchdowns with eight interceptions. Card completed passes at a 58.9% clip.
Along with his big arm, Card also showed off the ability to run the football at times during the 2023 campaign. He finished the year with 203 yards and five touchdowns on 93 attempts.
Purdue concluded the 2023 season with a 4-8 record.
