Four-Star SG Donovan Williams to Delay Recruitment Due to COVID-19 Pandemic

Donovan Williams is down to Oklahoma State, Kansas State, Texas, Texas A&M, Villanova and Oregon.

On Tuesday, after the COVID-19 pandemic put a stop to his official visits to Oklahoma State, Kansas State, Texas and Texas A&M, North Star (Lincoln, Neb.) shooting guard Donovan Williams told Sports Illustrated that he planned to sit down with his parents and decide whether he would go ahead with a decision or delay his recruitment.

Two days later he’s decided on the latter.

Villanova and Oregon are also in the mix for Williams, but the four schools he was scheduled to take official visits to were recruiting him the hardest, according to Williams.

This season, Williams averaged 29 points a game for the Navigators.

When asked if he was planning to push his visits back, Williams said, “Yes.”

He’ll have to wait until at least after April 15 since the NCAA banned all in-person recruiting for college coaches until then.

“I’m gonna let everything play out,” Williams said. “I’m gonna take my time.”
