Why He’s an SI All-American: Mobley came into the season with the proverbial bull’s-eye with all of the accolades that accompany a dominant summer; yet, still managed to dominate the competition to the tune of 19 points, 11 rebounds and 2.7 blocks a game.

Mobley fought through double and triple teams all season to lead the Eagles to a 22-8 record. Mobley also helped USA Basketball win gold medals at the 2019 FIBA U19 World Cup and 2018 FIBA U17 World Cup.

Mobley is the most skilled two-way big in the 2020 class with the versatility and skill set to dominate games. Mobley is an efficient low post scorer, who can step out and efficiently knock down the mid-range and perimeter jump shot. Also, his timing is impeccable on his blocks at the defensive end.

The bottom line is this: Good luck stopping a skilled 7-footer with a 7-foot-5 wingspan and a 40-inch vertical. Compton Magic founder Etop Udo-Ema, referred to Mobley as “a generational talent,” that much is evident in his NBA lottery projection for 2021, where some consider him to be the No. 1 overall pick.

What He Said: “I am truly blessed to have made the Sports Illustrated All-American team. I’m very excited about moving on to the next level, and this award adds to my motivation to continue to work hard, on and off the floor, to achieve my goals. Thank you."
