Greg Brown is a consensus top 10 player in the 2020 class. After dominating the competition this past summer with the Texas Titans, Brown is destroying the competition this season at Vandegrift (Austin, Texas). That production has made him one of America’s most wanted high school players with North Carolina, Memphis, Texas, Kentucky and Auburn all giving chase. Now he’s agreed to give SI All-American exclusive access into his world by chronicling everything from intimate details about his recruitment to his everyday life in a blog.

What’s up world, it’s Greg coming at you with my new blog with Sports Illustrated!

I’m just coming off my visit to Kentucky last weekend and it was a great visit. I loved the environment, the coaches, the players really, genuinely wanted me to come there.

The fans were chanting, “We want Greg!” at the game and that was crazy because they’re so loud there. Everyone was telling me that Kentucky had a wild fan base, but they exceeded what I was expecting.

I think the highlight was the game. The second half was so live and everyone was in to the game. You could feel the energy.

I had good talks with Coach Cal all weekend; he basically gave me a rundown of how my role would be there and how he’d prepare me for the NBA.

My next visit will be to Michigan on Feb. 8.

I’m still planning to decide in the spring. I’m not rushing anything right now because I’m focusing more on my high school season, which is going great!

We’re 22-2 right now and undefeated in district so we’re looking strong. Of course, we want to win states and our team chemistry has grown a lot. I feel like that’s what’s gonna give us the best chance to get it done.

I’m happy with how I’m playing this season individually too; I’m averaging 28 points, 13 rebounds, three assists and two steals a game. The biggest areas I feel like I’ve improved on are in my shooting, passing, IQ and ball handling.

My goal is always to be a better ball player all around and I feel like I’m getting there.

Of course, you guys know I’m staying on top of the books and I’m proud to say that I have all A’s and one B right now. I’m staying on top of it, trying to get to that all A’s mark!

My favorite subject right now is probably Science.

I’m still mostly listening to Playboi Carti, but I discovered a new rapper named Money Marr out of Baltimore. He’s tough too! You guys should check him out.

Oh, I have to put you on to the show Greenhouse Academy on Netflix.

Great show so you guys need to check that one out too.

OK guys I’ve gotta get ready to get out of here but check back soon for my next blog.
