Breaking Down Kentucky’s No. 1 Class

Once again the Wildcats have young talent that will be ready to produce right away.

There’s a reason Kentucky checked in at No. 6 in Sports Illustrated’s Way Too Early Top 25 Rankings for next season, its 2020 haul is the best collection of talent in the country with two SI All-Americans leading the way for the future Wildcats.

Here’s a breakdown of Kentucky’s stellar class.

Brandon Boston, Sierra Canyon (Chatsworth, Calif.), SG: The SI All-American is a deadly scorer with length and size and a motor that remains in overdrive. Boston teamed up with multiple elite players this season at Sierra Canyon and managed to be the best player on the team.

Terrence Clarke, Brewster Academy (Wolfeboro, N.H.), SG: The SI All-American is a dynamic scorer on all three levels and competes at a high level on both ends of the floor. Clarke has great size (6-foot-7) and agility and uses his athleticism to impact the game on and off the stat sheet.

Devin Askew, Mater Dei (Santa Ana, Calif.), PG: Askew is a marksman from deep who creates masterfully off the dribble for himself and his teammates. His scoring ability allows him to be effective off the ball and his high hoops IQ makes him a threat at all times.

Cam’Ron Fletcher, Vashon (St. Louis, Mo.), SF: Fletcher remains in attack mode and is at his best when he’s going downhill. His versatility and high motor enables him to impact the game in many different facets. Fletcher will be an important player in this class.

Lance Ware, Camden (Burlington, N.J.), F: Ware is a skilled big with a good feel on both ends of the floor. An efficient finisher with good hands, Ware has a nice touch on his mid-range jump shot and is a strong rebounder.

Isaiah Jackson, Water Mott (Waterford, Mich.), F: Jackson is a high-energy, exceptionally athletic big who thrives as a versatile scorer and rim protector.
