Broderick Jones Sticks with Georgia After Canceled Auburn Visit

Coveted 5 Star Offensive Tackle Broderick Jones Brings Blocking Services to Georgia

Broderick Jones’ recruitment to UGA had an unconventional twist towards the end of the saga, despite having being committed to Georgia since April of 2018.

With then offensive line coach Sam Pittman’s departure to Arkansas, Auburn seized the opportunity to make one last push at Jones. Despite a visit from two Auburn coaches, Jones’s commitment to be a bulldog held strong.

The second-team SI All-American signed with the in-state power on Wednesday during a ceremony at Lithonia (Ga.) High School.

The 6’6, 300-pound tackle has impressed recruiters with his athleticism, core strength, and a thorough understanding of the offensive line position. Despite his already developed body, Jones’ frame suggests he could add an additional 20 pounds and still be an effective blind-side blocker.

Jones’ commitment solidifies UGA’s top-3 ranking in the great recruiting war of 2020, and re-insures Bulldog fans of Kirby Smart’s commitment to winning the trenches.
