Coveted DL Langston Sets LSU Visit, Talks Timeline and More

The defending champs will soon host one of the top pass rushers in the class of 2021. Bryce Langston lays out visits and updates his timeline with SI All-American.

ORLANDO, Fla. -- Don't count out tight end Bryce Langston as the prestigious South Florida Express heads to Texas for their next 7-on-7 tournament.

Sure he's 6-foot-4, 260 pounds and is one of the top pass rushers in the class of 2021, but nothing put a smile on his face in person like the thought of making plays on the other side of the ball.

Okay, the Ocala (Fla.) Vanguard prospect is showing versatility but it's all about defense for the rising senior when it comes to college football. More than a dozen top programs have offered the former Florida Gator verbal commitment and he will see some campuses in person beginning this weekend.

"I'm going to be in Houston on March 7 with my 7-on-7 team," he said.

The next round of visits beyond, though, could be considered critical in the chase for Langston. He will kick off his official visits with a trip to national champion LSU in mid April.

"I'm setting up an LSU official visit," he said. "They're recruiting me hard and I like which ever team is recruiting me the most."

The first trip puts Langston in Baton Rouge while the Tigers are set to take the field publicly for the first time since winning it all -- the LSU spring game.

Other programs have attempted to set up similar trips with the junior, who put in 10 tackles for loss for Vanguard High in 2019.

"Everybody is getting at me," he said. "A lot of people are recruiting me hard. Virginia Tech, LSU, Florida, Georgia, Penn State..."

The Gators staff has never slowed for Langston despite his decommitment last May. His teammate at VHS, Trevonte Rucker, had a similar pattern on the trail before circling back on Florida with a commitment in February.

There is no pressure coming from Rucker to get his friend to do the same, however.

"It's always love with Florida," he said. "(Rucker) Knows I'm going to take my time."

In fact, Langston won't settle on a school until December, most likely.

"I was thinking about signing day and before signing day," he said.

Langston has a top five of Florida, LSU, Georgia, Penn State and Oregon, which he released in October. He is currently committed to play in the 2021 Under Armour All-America Game.
