Four-Star Wide Receiver Arian Smith Picks Georgia Over Alabama, Oklahoma, Florida

Lakeland, Fla., wide receiver Arian Smith is headed to Athens to play for Kirby Smart and the Bulldogs.

Arian Smith is the latest big-time recruit to pick Georgia.

Smith, the spectacular four-star wide receiver from Lakeland, Fla., announced Wednesday his intention to sign with the Bulldogs. The 6-foot-1, 170-pound weapon could provide some immediate relief to the Georgia wide receiving corps, and should also be an asset on special teams.

With Smith's commitment, Georgia solidifies one of the nation's strongest classes. With LSU losing multiple commitments on the first day of the Early Signing Period, it's not a stretch to think that Kirby Smart's Bulldogs could wind up with the second-best class in the SEC, behind Alabama.

Smith was deciding between Alabama, Oklahoma and in-state Florida. He finished his high school career with a trip to the Florida state playoff quarterfinals, before falling to Armwood 23-10.

"It was his connection with the coaching staff, from Kirby down, that lead to his commitment." - John Garcia Jr.
