1-on-1 With 2021 USC QB Commit Jake Garcia
Class of 2021 pro-styler Jake Garcia attended the Under Armor All-America Game camp in Mission Viejo (Calif.) High School at the first stop of UA’s 2020 camp circuit. We caught up with Garcia after the combine for a quick update on his commitment.
Garcia looks forward to his senior season at La Habra, hoping to make a run at the California state title this year.
Relishing at the opportunity to get some work in with some of the region’s best, Garcia tells SI “Iron sharpens iron. Coming out here against good competition is... you can’t pass it up."
Many have criticized USC's 2020 class recruiting haul, which was considered one of the poorest in the school's storied history. Just thirteen commitments in the class of 2020 have lead many to wonder if the leadership within USC football, and USC athletics as a whole, is doing enough to attract the high-level talent typical of past USC football recruiting classes.
Fortunately Garcia is undoubtedly a step in the right direction.
