When you talk about the greatest athletes in any sport, one of the primary requirements for you to be considered an all-time great is to win multiple championships. In the NFL, it's the Super Bowl. In Tennis, it's grand slam titles. In basketball, it's all about the NBA and WNBA Finals, and former Gamecock A'ja Wilson won her second straight WNBA title with the Las Vegas Aces on Wednesday night.

Add in a Finals MVP, and analysts are beginning to talk differently about Wilson and her standing amongst the best women's basketball players of all-time. A'ja's accomplishments should no longer viewed from a generational standpoint, as her résumé is quickly becoming one that can contend with any player from any point in her sports' history.

On Thursday's edition of ESPN's First Take, polarizing sports commentator Stephen A. Smith, who's biggest strength in terms of sports knowledge lies with basketball, took some additional time at the end of a segment talking about the WNBA Finals to list off Wilson's accomplishments and make an emphatic point about her career.

"When you look at A'ja Wilson - She's absolutely phenomenal," Smith stated. "We need to start talking about A'ja Wilson as one of the greatest female basketball players [of all time]. She's in the conversation in terms of her accomplishments as one of the greatest ever."

It's high praise from one of the biggest voices in sports, and with Wilson now having a chance to pull off a rare three-peat with the Aces in 2024, one has to believe that pulling off that feat plus some more individual rewards will put her in a class of her own.
