BREAKING: Te-Hina Paopao Will Return To South Carolina For 2024-25 Season
South Carolina's women's basketball just capped off an undefeated regular season for the second straight season in a row. They're the No. 1 for the SEC Women's Basketball Tournament and likely will be the No. 1 overall seed for the NCAA Tournament that begins later this month. On Monday night, one of their seniors who was honored on Sunday afternoon in the Gamecocks final regular season home decided to add to all the good news.
Senior guard Te-Hina Paopao, who transferred in from Oregon last offseason, will be forgoing the WNBA Draft this coming April and instead return to Columbia for the 2024-25 season.
Paopao, who came into the program with a strong reputation as a three-point specialist, is having a career year in that regard, possessing what's to this point a new career high three-point shooting percentage (48.6%) on 140 shots from behind the three-point line. That mark is also the best in the entire SEC.
