For South Carolina women's basketball fans who might have a genuine dislike for Caitlin Clark, the discontent likely stems from one of two things: the massive media campaign that's been executed by ESPN over the last calendar year covering the Iowa Hawkeye star, overshadowing the Gamecocks' success during that stretch to a certain degree, or the fact that Clark up-ended Carolina's shot at an undefeated run in 2023. The aforementioned defeat ended the career of the renowned 'Freshies' group that was spearheaded by eventual No. 1 overall pick Aliyah Boston, who was the biggest star in the sport before Clark announced her arrival this past year in the NCAA Tournament.

With Clark's college career now over, she has but a moment to catch her breath before the WNBA comes calling this coming Monday night, where she's expected to be drafted by the Indiana Fever, the team who drafted Boston last April. When asked by Elle Duncan in an interview on ESPN's SportsCenter last night about her thoughts regarding playing alongside her former college foe and former teammate on the United States Women's Basketball Under-19 National team, Caitlin gave glowing remarks about her as a player, and broadcaster of the game.

"Oh man, I mean, that would obviously be amazing, and I have so much respect for Aliyah, and like you said, she's been an amazing analyst this year and she actually reached out to me after the national title game and said nice things. And you know, I'm super excited. I've been lucky enough to be her teammate and know firsthand how talented she is in the bright future that she has, so it'll be special for sure."
