The College Football Playoff committee deliberated Sunday and decided the four teams that will compete for a national championship this year.

After winning their respective conference championships, LSU, Ohio State, Clemson and Oklahoma all made the cut with LSU earning the top seed.

The top-seeded LSU Tigers will face No. 4 Oklahoma in the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl on Dec. 28.

No. 2 Ohio State and No.3 Clemson will duke it out in the Fiesta Bowl also on Dec. 28.

During the selection show, Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney spoke on the rationale behind playing the underdog role this season.

“It’s fun,” he said with his signature grin. “Everybody loves a challenge, or at least we love one here. I think that, again, you’re always looking for little things along the way to--free fuel. When you’re going across the country man, free fuel is good. Gas cost a lot of money so when you can get free fuel, it’s always good.”
