One of the premier ways to evaluate talent in an upcoming NFL draft is the Senior Bowl. Hundreds of draft prospects enter the Senior Bowl hoping to impress scouts and improve their draft stock. A handful of guys display impressive performances every year and improve their draft stock significantly. Most of the notable reports from the Bowl suggest former Gamecock Darius Rush is one of those guys.

Rush was one of the better defensive backs in the SEC during the 2022 season, but he has flown under the radar as a draft prospect. Rush has been slated as a third-day guy for much of the draft cycle, though he might have flipped that narrative with his Senior Bowl performances.

Throughout the Senior Bowl, media outlets gave Rush plenty of spotlight. However, in the last few days, Rush has thoroughly impressed scouts and has received praise from multiple national media outlets. Sites like CBS Sports and 247 Sports have declared Rush one of the draft's highest risers due to his excellent performances in the Senior Bowl Game practices.

Though many teams were initially impressed with Rush's large frame and athletic ability, his coverage ability was on full display at the practices, leaving many impressed. Though tackling has been touted as one of his bigger weaknesses, Rush proved his speed and quickness can make up for poor routes to the ball carrier.

His performances this past week have inspired many scouts and analysts to move him up to a mid to late second-day selection. Rush was a more than capable SEC defensive back and should serve a significant role in whatever defense he is drafted to.
