Shane Beamer is gearing up for his third season as the head football coach at South Carolina, and with the accomplishments he's racked up in his short time so far in Columbia, the majority of people within the fanbase and outside of the state are now looking forward to seeing what the Gamecocks could do this coming Fall. It might be difficult to surpass what Carolina did last season, ending four multi-year losing streaks which included three top 15 wins over Clemson, Tennessee and Kentucky, but the Gamecocks have been able to display consistent improvement under Beamer's watch.

The schedule will once again be a tough road to hoe for the Gamecocks, as they play three games away from home in the month of September, and could be facing as many as seven Top 25 teams depending on where the polls rank their opponents later this year. Based on this and some key personnel losses from this past offseason, it seems as if oddsmakers are still hesitant to put a large amount of stock in the Gamecocks, as evidenced by bettors initial win total over/under's that've been released in recent weeks.

2023 Win Total Over/Under's

FanDuel: 6.5 Wins (Over: +110 | Under: -134)

Draft Kings: 6.5 Wins (Over: -105 | Under: -115)

Caesars Sportsbook: 6 Wins (Over: -125 | Under: -105)

It should be noted that while oddsmakers typically have sound reason and also some information to off of when it comes to setting these odds, South Carolina has vastly exceeded the expectations of both those in Las Vegas and on the national landscape. Whether or not that trend will continue in 2023 remains to be seen, but there's no doubt that if seen, these numbers will serve as some extra motivation for Shane Beamer and his staff.
