Portal Receiver With NFL Bloodlines Receives An Offer From South Carolina
With Thursday's news regarding Antwane Wells Jr. entering the transfer portal, the South Carolina Gamecocks find themselves in a dire situation at the wide receiver position. With very few receivers having made contributions in their time in Columbia, Shane Beamer and his staff are in great need of experienced and proven pass catchers.
A couple of players have already been mentioned as potential targets, but North Texas wideout Ja'Mori Maclin, who's a younger cousin of former All-American and Missouri standout Jeremy Maclin, announced on X earlier today that he has officially received an offer from Carolina.
Ja'Mori originally followed in his older cousin's footsteps and went to Missouri in 2020, but after two seasons decided to transfer to North Texas. Maclin has started in 13 games and played in 26 matchups over the past two seasons, and put together a banner year in this Fall, racking up 57 receptions for 1,004 yards and eleven touchdowns. With the chance to get back in the SEC, and maybe get some sort of retribution over Missouri, the Gamecocks could be a program to watch here moving forward.
