MarShawn Lloyd Transfers To The USC Trojans
Almost three weeks ago, the South Carolina Gamecocks were left scratching their heads when star running back MarShawn Lloyd announced that he was entering the transfer portal. This saga began with Lloyd scrubbing his Twitter bio clean of anything Gamecock related.
With time running short and little public information being released on the schools MarShawn Lloyd was looking into, people had begun to wonder whether or not the Delaware native would exit the portal and return to South Carolina. However, the running back confirmed on Friday that this wouldn't be the case, as he announced his transfer to Lincoln Riley and the Trojans of Southern California.
While it might be a long time before we know the whole story behind what led to the running back entering the portal, there's no question that when Lloyd was one-hundred percent healthy, he was one of the best all-around backs in the SEC.
In nine games in 2022, playing his last two while being hampered with a deep-thigh bruise, Lloyd racked up 749 offensive yards and eleven touchdowns. At points, he was their best offensive player; now, Lloyd is on to the west coast to pair with one of the most potent minds in football.
