Multiple South Carolina Assistants Receive New Contracts
As expected, South Carolina's Board of Trustees meeting on Friday brought on plenty of new contracts with the football team. Along with the new contracts for Shane Beamer and Lonnie Teasley, five assistant coaches received new contracts, increasing their pay and extending their time with the team.
Torrian Gray received the only a two-year extension, keeping him in Columbia through 2025. Gray will receive $675 thousand in 2023 and $700 thousand in 2024. Defensive Coordinator Clayton White will be with the Gamecocks through 2025 as well, as he received a one-year extension and a revised salary worth $1.2 million
Running Backs Coach Montario Hardesty, Defensive Line Coach Jimmy Lindsey, and Defensive Ends/Outside Linebackers Coach Sterling Lucas all received one-year extensions keeping them with the team through 2024. Hardesty's new deal will pay him a salary of $400 thousand, while Lucas and Lindsey will both be earning $475 thousand per their new deal.
Nearly all of the assistants on the South Carolina coaching staff received amended deals, both extending their time with the team and increasing their pays which is a sign of good times for the program.
