BREAKING: Robby Ashford Expected To Transfer To South Carolina /

It appears that former Auburn quarterback Robby Ashford is set to make a significant decision regarding his future in college football, as it was first reported by The War Rapport's Mike Gittens on Tuesday afternoon that Ashford is expected to transfer to South Carolina. This move will undoubtedly create fun discussion with the quarterback competition behind LaNorris Sellers this coming Spring.

Ashford's tenure at Auburn showcased his potential as a dynamic and versatile player. While he didn't see as much action in his most recent season, his freshman performance was particularly noteworthy. During this time, he demonstrated his skills by throwing for just over 1600 yards and impressively rushing for over 700 yards, accumulating 14 touchdowns.

The decision to join the Gamecocks signals a fresh start for Ashford, allowing him to develop his talents further and significantly impact the Gamecocks football scene. As Ashford prepares to embark on this new journey, the Gamecocks fanbase eagerly anticipates witnessing his potential growth and contributions to the team's success. His dual threat ability has the potential to add a dynamic dimension to South Carolina's offensive strategies, setting the stage for this staff to compete.

Now, Shane Beamer and the staff have that depth they wanted to get into the quarterback room to force Sellers to fight and earn the starting role and grow from the competition. Fans should be excited to get spring here quickly. Both quarterbacks bring their strengths and weaknesses to the program, and the quarterback who has it together between the ears will likely win the job, with both being dual-threat quarterbacks in their own right.
