Shane Beamer Provides Initial Injury Report Ahead Of Kentucky Matchup
South Carolina's Football team is beginning preparations for a big game against Kentucky, but a few players' statuses remain in limbo.
Shane Beamer and the South Carolina Gamecocks are coming off a big win, literally and figuratively speaking, against the Vanderbilt Commodores, with the defense progressing in a big way, and explosive plays leading the way for Spencer Rattler and the offense. However, Carolina is once entering a week of preparation not knowing whether or not they're going to have certain players available. Here was the following injury update Shane Beamer gave to the media during his Sunday night teleconference call:
Initial Kentucky Week Injury Report
- RB Juju McDowell - OUT FOR SEASON: Juju suffered a broken collarbone against Vanderbilt, and won't be able to play for the rest of the season.
- RB Dakereon Joyner - QUESTIONABLE: The super senior running back wasn't able to play this past weekend against the Vanderbilt Commodores after suffering a lower-body injury against the Jacksonville State Gamecocks.
- OL Trai Jones - QUESTIONABLE: The fourth-year offensive lineman has missed each of the last two games with an undisclosed injury.
- OL Cason Henry - QUESTIONABLE: Reaggravated the same injury he suffered against North Carolina when playing Jacksonville State.
- WR Juice Wells - WEEK-TO-WEEK: Has been out since the Georgia game. Juice has been jogging for the last couple of weeks according to Beamer.
