South Carolina 2024 Recruiting Class Impressing Early in the Cycle

Shane Beamer's 2024 recruiting class has already shown flashes of greatness, places top ten in most recruiting databases.

Unless you have been living under a rock, you have noticed the waves South Carolina has been making around college football this past month. Shane Beamer and the rest of the Gamecocks' coaching staff have been on a tear in the recruiting world, landing multiple high-profile recruits, including 2023 standout Nyckoles Harbor. While the Harbor commitment was a big step for the program, the Gamecocks following recruiting class seemingly transcends anything South Carolina has done yet.

Though it is early in the cycle, South Carolina has already added five commits, all accredited four-stars. Though quarterback Dante Reno has been committed for months, the Gamecocks have added Michael Smith, Wendell Gregory, Kim Pringle, and Mazeo Bennett all in the past month, an impressive mark for a class still a year away from graduating.

These recent additions have pushed the Gamecocks' recruiting class to sixth in the nation, according to 247 Sports, moving them ahead of the likes of Michigan, Oregon, Ohio State, and Clemson. Trailing only Georgia, Notre Dame, LSU, Florida State, and Alabama, South Carolina has emerged as the elite recruiting program they have been aspiring to be.

Beamer's staff has made it a point to scout for the best college football talent, which has worked thus far. South Carolina's early leap in the ranking should be expected to be maintained, considering how many top high school players have included South Carolina in their shortened recruitment lists.

Time will tell how South Carolina's 2024 recruiting class shapes up as we get deeper into the recruiting cycle. But for now, Beamer and South Carolina should enjoy one of the nation's best recruiting classes.
