BREAKING: 2025 TE & Gamecock Target Commits To Rival
Recruiting for college football programs can be a cruel business. On one day, you're making the cut for a national-level prospect whom you seem in be strongly in the running for. Just a couple days later, that same prospect might commit to another program over yours, one that's a conference or in-state rival to put the cherry on top.
That's what just happened to Shane Beamer and the South Carolina Gamecocks, who made the Top 8 for 2025 four-star tight end Logan Brooking earlier this week, but lost him today to their archrivals in the Clemson Tigers.
Carolina was the very first FBS program to offer Logan Brooking over a year ago, but it appears the Tigers made up ground quickly after offering the Georgia native in June and were just too much in the end. This could have a reverberating impact on one other recruitment for South Carolina, as Brooking happens to be teammates with five-star defensive lineman Elijah Griffin, who both in-state programs are battling over.
While the Gamecocks have 2024 safety commit and fellow Savannah Christian Prep product David Bucey to help them out, this could help Clemson gain some ground on Carolina and the Georgia Bulldogs in the Griffin sweepstakes. We'll see how much of an impact it has, if any at all, over the next 13 months.
