Where Does South Carolina Stand In Preseason AP Top 25 Poll
The College Football's much-anticipated Associated Press (AP) Top 25 Poll has been released today, with the usual suspects at the top and a few surprising entries making the cut. The AP Poll, a mainstay of the college football landscape, uses the voting of sports journalists across the country to rank the top 25 Division I FBS teams.
Preseason AP Top 25 Rankings:

3) Ohio State
4) Alabama

6) Southern Cal'
7) Penn State

9) Clemson

11) Texas
12) Tennessee
13) Notre Dame

An early look at South Carolina's schedule based on the AP Top 25 list has them essentially 27th in the country, as they received the second highest amount of votes (73) out of the teams not slotted in the Top 25. The Gamecocks are also playing five ranked teams according to the AP Poll; No. 1 Georgia, No. 9 Clemson, No. 12 Tennessee, No. 21 North Carolina, and No. 23 Texas A&M. Another note to add, the Gamecocks will host Furman in week two, who was ranked 6th in the FCS Preseason Coaches Poll.
