Final Injury Report Ahead of Tennessee
The South Carolina Gamecocks endured an absolute beatdown this past weekend at the hands of the Florida Gators. A big reason for this was that running backs MarShawn Lloyd and Christian Beal-Smith were unavailable due to injury.
It seems like this will be the case again for the Gamecocks' upcoming matchup against the Tennessee Volunteers. Head coach Shane Beamer said on his weekly Carolina Calls radio show appearance that Lloyd and Beal-Smith would be unable to play.
This means Gamecock fans can bank on seeing do-it-all tight end Jaheim Bell getting some snaps in the backfield once again. Still, due to the challenge the Volunteers bring offensively, the Gamecocks prefer playing multiple backs play on Saturday.
South Carolina must prove it can find ways to run the football without Lloyd in the lineup. He has missed the past few contests, and the issue has come to the forefront.
Running back Juju McDowell had an impressive outing against Georgia, yet doesn't get many opportunities to make plays. They typically run him between the tackles, although he had success running outside concepts earlier in the season.
