South Carolina's Football team has landed a portal commitment from a proven, experienced wideout in Coastal Carolina's Jared Brown.

With five scholarship receivers having entered the portal, and another three wideouts completely exhausting their eligibility, the South Carolina Gamecocks found themselves in desperate need of pass-catchers at the beginning of the transfer portal cycle. This past weekend, Shane Beamer and his coaching staff hosted several big-time prospects, one of them being Coastal Carolina wide receiver Jared Brown.

With the chance to start immediately in an SEC offense being there, it seems that it was too good of an offer to pass up, as Brown announced his commitment to the Gamecocks on Monday afternoon.

Jared  was one of the best wide receivers at the Group of 5 level over the past two seasons, racking up 1,534 receiving yards and 11 receiving touchdowns on 108 catches in the passing game, and 439 rushing yards and two rushing touchdowns on 35 carries in the ground game over the past two seasons in Conway. Brown was named a Freshman All-American by the Football Writers Association of America and College Football News for his play in 2022.
