After a 4-8 finish this season, the University of South Carolina Gamecocks are looking to retool and get back in the SEC hunt next year.

With the early signing period set to start on Dec. 18, here are a few 2020 prospects USC head coach Will Muschamp will be watching.

Desmond Tisdol – the 6’0” 215 lb 4-star linebacker out of Wilcox County High in Georgia announced on Twitter this week that he has narrowed his choices down to Tennessee, Auburn and USC.

Jordan Burch- The 5-star defensive end out of Hammond has a handful of schools to choose from come Dec. 18. In addition to USC, the 6’5”275 lb standout is considering LSU, Clemson, Alabama and UGA.

Ger-Cari Caldwell – Standing at 6’4” and weighing 190 lbs, Caldwell is a 3-star wide receiver out of Northwestern High in Rock Hill. He will be choosing between USC, East Carolina and Baylor.

Muschamp so far has 19 hard commits so far, including 4-star running back MarShawn Lloyd, 4-star quarterback Luke Doty and 4-star defensive tackle Alex Hammond. The 2020 recruiting class is ranked 18th nationally and 7th in the SEC according to 247Sports.

According to The State, Muschamp said there could be room for a few more players in this recruiting class.

β€œWe probably still have anywhere from four to five or five or six openings that we feel good about where we are,” Muschamp said. β€œSome guys who want to take a visit or two here or there, to make sure that South Carolina is going to be the place for them. We feel good about where we are.”
