The South Carolina Gamecocks have had a rollercoaster of a year, but with the bye week offering time to regroup and recharge, there are a few players, whether they're already contributing or not, who need to step up if the team is going to end the year on a high note. Here are those four players:

Vershon Lee, Center

The Gamecocks' offensive line has experienced a rough start this season, and they need to reset their identity and have a leader. Center Vershon Lee is the perfect candidate for this role. As the 'quarterback' of the offensive line, Lee can set the tone and direction for his teammates. His role will be crucial in improving protection for the quarterback and creating opportunities for the running backs.

Debo Williams, Linebacker

Williams got off to an impressive start this season, but his impact has been less noticeable in recent games. His high-speed, high-energy style of play can be a game-changer for the Gamecocks' defense, and his team needs him to return to that level of performance. Having him cause disruption in the opposing team's backfields and make key tackles to halt drives can swing momentum in favor of this defense.

Tonka Hemingway, Defensive Tackle

Hemingway was a force to be reckoned with last season due to his ability to get sacks and create big plays. However, so far this season, he's been relatively quiet. Tonka's performance in the game against Tennessee showed signs of him returning to his previous form, and the Gamecocks need him to continue that upward trend. If Hemingway can get back to his best, he'll be a significant threat to opposing offenses.

Another WR

The Gamecocks' passing game needs a boost, and that requires a solid and consistent No. 2 receiver. Xavier Legette has been a reliable target, but he needs support. Injuries have been an issue for the Gamecocks this season, but hopefully, the bye week has given the team a chance to get healthy. Whether it's a currently underperforming player stepping up or a new face emerging, the team needs someone to fill this role.

While these four players can potentially turn the tide for the Gamecocks, the team has a good chance of ending the season on a high note if more can step up as well. Only time will tell if they can seize this opportunity and lead their team to success.
