Xavier Legette Thanks South Carolina Teammates, Coaches & Fans
Late Monday night, South Carolina star wideout Xavier Legette took to Instagram and thanked South Carolina coaches, teammates, and fans for all the memories, stating in his post, "Being a kid from Mullins, playing for the garnet and black was a dream come true."
Legette, exiting sublimely, became the fourth receiver in school history to eclipse the 1,000-yard receiving mark, joining an elite group of South Carolina wide receivers that includes Sterling Sharpe, Sidney Rice, and Alshon Jeffrey. In his breakout 2023 campaign, Xavier reeled in 71 passes for 1,255 receiving yards and seven touchdowns. Legette had five games where he recorded over 100 receiving yards.
Combined with his physical intangibles, Legette has been mocked by some NFL Draft analysts as a mid to late-first-round selection. The 6-foot-3, 225-pound receiver is a prototypical X receiver who has displayed versatility lining up in the slot. Leading the nation in most receptions of 30-plus yards with 13, he'll be a treat to an NFL team that needs a playmaker who can stretch the field.
