The time for talking is officially over. In the final weekend of the 2023-24 women's college basketball season, Dawn Staley and the South Carolina Gamecocks look to finish off their redemption tour with a championship. However, before they can look that far ahead, they have to deal with the NC State Wolfpack on Friday. NC State is one of just a few teams that can match up with the Gamecocks from a physical intangibles standpoint and is known for their play on the defensive end of the floor.

The Wolfpack's second-leading scorer, Saniya Rivers, was a part of Carolina's national championship-winning squad back in 2022 before transferring to Raleigh. Although both teams have only seen one of their last six meetings end with a double-digit margin, the Gamecocks have held the upper hand in the series since Staley arrived in Columbia, winning four of those six aforementioned contests.
