ICYMI: Kamilla Cardoso Moves Up In ESPN's Latest WNBA Mock Draft
It's been quite the week for South Carolina's outgoing senior center, Kamilla Cardoso. Having capped off her college career with an undefeated national title run that saw her be named the NCAA Tournament's Most Outstanding Player, the Brazilian native now looks ahead to the 2024 WNBA Draft, which will take place this coming Monday night. For the longest time, ESPN had projected Cardoso to be selected with the No. 4 overall pick by the Los Angeles Sparks, where she would've teamed up with former Gamecock teammateZia Cooke. However, in the network's most recent mock draft released by Michael Voepel, Kamilla is now projected as the No. 3 overall pick to the Chicago Sky.
What's as intriguing about this mock draft is if things were to unfold precisely as ESPN has projected, Cardoso could join forces with former college foe and LSU star Angel Reese, who's projected to go the Sky at pick No. 8.
