Early National Signing Day Capsule: Dante Reno
South Carolina has officially gotten 2024 quarterback Dante Reno's national letter of intent. Reno, committed to the University of South Carolina since July 2nd of, 2022, will add some young but quality depth to the Gamecocks quarterback room. Reno, who played for Cheshire Academy High School, finished his senior year as an Under Armour All-American and made it to the Elite 11 finals.
Dante Reno, finished his senior season with 2,358 yards and throwing for 20 touchdowns and only eight interceptions, also added 282 yards on the ground and eight rushing touchdowns.
Prospect: Dante Reno
Projected Position: QB
Vitals: 6-1.5, 205 lbs.
Athleticism: Reno possesses both the frame and the athleticism to be able to provide not only a threat with his arm but also improvise with his legs, showing the ability to.
Instincts: He can do the little things right. From his throwing mechanics to stepping up in the pocket or escaping when needed. Typically, he doesn't force foul balls and knows when to tuck and run.
Bottom Line: Dante Reno will bring another young and competitive edge to this quarterback room, and that's always good. Competition brings out the best in everyone, and Reno will provide just that.
