Early National Signing Day Capsule: Josiah Thompson
The 2024 offensive line class for the state of South Carolina might've been the best one seen in recent memory. The headliner of the group is Josiah Thompson who, with added weight to his frame, has the potential to be a future first-round draft pick if he hits his ceiling
Prospect: Josiah Thompson
School: Dillon High School (Dillon, South Carolina)
Projected Position: Right Tackle
Size: 6'6, 275 lbs.
Athleticism: Ever heard the catchphrase 'Light as a feather'? That's how Josiah Thompson moves on the football field. Sure, it's partly due to him being a touch undersized in terms of weight, but few guys can move downfield like Thompson at his position.
Instincts: Josiah is a guy who never gets confused on his assignment. Once he gets his eyes, and eventually his bear paws on you, you're pretty much done.
Bottom Line: Usually, it's tough to envision a freshman offensive lineman having a chance to play early, but depending on how his offseason goes, Thompson could have an opportunity to contend for early snaps in Columbia.
