Early National Signing Day Capsule: Matthew Fuller
Matthew Fuller will likely be the lone running back from the recruiting class after committing to the Gamecocks on June 23rd of this year and the signing of three big portal targets. Fuller not only is a solid physical back but also has breakaway speed. While he may have to wait his turn, when his number is called, he likely will not disappoint.
Prospect: Matthew Fuller
School: Wayne County (Jesup, GA)
Projected Position: Running Back
Size: 6-0 and 215 lbs.
Athleticism: Fuller is a 4.5-type back who can show his breakaway speed and lower his shoulder and strength in the same play.
Instincts: He is a patient back that will wait for a lane or hole to open, and once it does, he shoots through it with minimal hesitation. Once he reaches the second level, he can utilize his vision and turn short plays into bigger ones.
Bottom Line: While Fuller may have to wait his turn in a running back-room that has been revamped, it will benefit Fuller to get in a college weight room and have time to get used to the grind of the SEC. Once he gets his chance, though, he will be ready.
