Early National Signing Day Capsule: Mazeo Bennett

South Carolina's Football program has received a national letter of intent from Mazeo Bennett.

Shane Beamer and South Carolina's Football staff are looking for more consistency from their wide receiver room in 2024, and incoming freshman Mazeo Bennett will provide an immediate boost in that department.

Prospect: Mazeo Bennett

School: Greenville High School (Greenville, SC)

Projected Position: Slot Receiver

Size: 5'11, 180 pounds

Athleticism: If you're going to line up in the slot, you have to have an explosive release off the line of scrimmage, and Mazeo has that in spades. Acceleration is also off the charts, making him dangerous in the open field.

Instincts: Bennett possesses unreal hand-eye coordination and can make spectacular catches with players in his vicinity despite his slightly smaller frame.

Bottom Line: Mazeo might not be necessarily a constant home-run threat, but his combination of hands, route-running, acceleration in the shorter areas of the field and release off the line of scrimmage will make him a constant threat to opposing defenses in critical situations at the next level.
