Justin Greene Names Gamecocks In Top Group
Between the efforts of Shane Beamer, edge coach Sterling Lucas and other assistants on South Carolina's staff, the Gamecocks landed multiple impressive edge rushers in the 2023 recruiting cycle, and things look to be status quo when discussing the 2024 class. The Gamecocks have already put themselves in a favorable position with Washington, DC native Dylan Stewart and have made inroads with other edge rushers in the southeastern region, notably Georgia's own Justin Greene.
Greene is viewed universally by the recruiting world as one of the best defensive line prospects for his class and backs up this notion with offers from programs like Georgia, LSU, Southern Cal' Auburn, and many others. He's taken three visits to Columbia to this point in the process and has built a solid rapport with Shane Beamer and the rest of the staff, evidenced by the fact that he was found saying in a recent Twitter post from RecruitNE_Ga that South Carolina was in his top group.
The Gamecocks are joined in this group by Georgia, Auburn, and LSU, making this recruitment a true SEC heavyweight battle to secure Greene's pledge. Based on this new information, the Gamecocks would presumably be a shoe-in to get an official visit from Justin during the Summertime, along with the rest of their SEC counterparts.
