Gamecock Target Channing Goodwin Sets Commitment Date
As Summer gets closer and closer, we are starting to get into commitment season for the class of 2024. Plenty of top athletes in the class have already announced their future in football, and more are coming. One of South Carolina's targets in the class of 2024, Channing Goodwin, has set a commitment date. The wide receiver out of North Carolina will announce his commitment on Sunday, May 7th, at 4 p.m. EST.
Goodwin will decide between his top seven schools, which he released just days ago. The seven schools include South Carolina, Michigan, North Carolina, North Carolina State, Wake Forest, Virginia, and Virginia Tech. Michigan is the heavy favorite to land Goodwin, according to On3's Recruiting Prediction Machine.
Goodwin, the son of former NFL player and Super Bowl winner Jonathan Goodwin, has been a dynamic receiver since he entered high school. Being selected as a Freshman All-American in 2020, Goodwin has been on some coach's radars for years. The talented 6-1 receiver would be a welcome face in an already stacked receiving room in South Carolina.
