South Carolina has logged a historic 2024 recruiting. class to date. Quarterback Dante Reno, wide receiver Mazeo Bennett, offensive tackle Kam Pringle, and linebacker Wendell Gregory make up their recruiting class to date. Wide receiver Jonathan Paylor is a big target for them, as he is one of the biggest uncommitted receiver prospects in the entire recruiting class.

Paylor recently spoke with Sports Talk SC and said this about USC: "South Carolina is really, really leading the pack right now." "It is probably like a couple of gaps; I'm not going to lie to you."

The 5'9" wide receiver from Burlington, NC, has been a familiar name for Carolina fans for a bit now. He got an offer from Justin Stepp back in September of 2021, and since then, he has visited multiple times for games and events. He even found himself at the Duke's Mayo Bowl in 2021 to see South Carolina's dominating win over his home state school, North Carolina.

South Carolina has made him a priority, and it has become apparent since Reno and Bennett have been recruiting him in the background. Furthermore, they've been making a big social media push this week, making several posts about Paylor.

South Carolina will be battling Alabama, NC State, Tennessee, Georgia, Ohio State, and Clemson for his recruitment. South Carolina is in the driver's seat and will look to take its first commit in the state of North Carolina in the Shane Beamer era.
