BREAKING: Senior RB To Miss Rest Of Spring Practice With Upper Body Injury
South Carolina's football team concluded their fourth Spring practice on Tuesday morning, and with the pads now on, Shane Beamer and the rest of his coaches can get a better idea of where every player is in terms of their ability to make an impact in simulated live-game situations. However, there's an inherent cost that comes with the sport, and that's the reality that at some point in time, players are going to suffer injuries, and the best you can do is hope that it's something minor that won't hinder the athlete for a prolonged period.
Unfortunately, that won't be the case with senior running back Juju McDowell, who, according to Shane Beamer when speaking at his weekly Tuesday press conference earlier this afternoon, landed awkwardly on one of his collarbones in a non-contact drill when diving for a pass in a recent practice. The Georgia native and everyone else agreed that the best course of action would be to shut McDowell down for the Spring to allow the injury to heal properly, leaving the Gamecocks now with just four scholarship running backs.
